It doesn't matter how long she's been playing Phoebe in worldwide hit series Charmed, the reason everybody wants to talk to Alyssa Milano these days has nothing to do with the show and everything to do with her boyfriend, the freshly de-Britneyed Justin Timberlake. Unfortunately, the bosses on the Charmed set have made it perfectly clear to More! that if we so much as mention the J-word, the interview is over. Erk. Time to tread very carefully then…

So Alyssa, in the next series of Charmed, you finally get married to Cole. Is that a chance for you to live out your own wedding fantasies? You know, trying on the dress, chucking the bouquet?

I have been married before, actually, and yes it was beautiful, but I'm kind of immune to the whole 'acting wedding' thing now. I've been married so many times on film, I'm like Elizabeth Taylor! But the wedding to Cole has been my favourite so far - purely because it was so crazy, with demons attacking us and so on. It's been real fun exploring that relationship this season.

Some of us were surprised you two even made it to the altar…

[laughs] I know! In the past Phoebe could always point to the fact that he's a demon when she started to get cold feet, but now that he's human, she doesn't have that excuse any more. And that scares her. But it's a very human thing, isn't it? Keeping the option of that back door open… and of course, once that back door's been shut, reality kicks in. There's no real excuse for you to leave any more.

You have a new sister this series as well. How did everyone adjust to that?

Having Rose arrive meant that the show really went through a re-birth - it gave us all a new dynamic that was really needed. It's really the best case scenario, for all of us.

You're regularly listed in those 50 Most Beautiful People features. Do you get funny about that?

Yeah right, that's a real burden [laughs]. Oh come on, it's part of the job, isn't it? I have no complaints about what I do for a living, and I do feel blessed. We get to do what we enjoy for a living, and yes, part of that means people are going to comment on your looks. But to complain about that kind of thing is just bullshit.

Well especially when your day job means you get to snog Julian McMahon…

[beams] Well yes, and again, there are no complaints here. Cole's perfect for Phoebe, isn't he? She's the type that would be more attracted to the rebel I think. She's very quirky, so you couldn't pair her up with someone ultra-conservative. So teaming her up with someone half-human/half-demon made perfect sense. I know I certainly went through my demonic phase when I was dating [laughs]. When I was attracted to the bad guys, you know?

You work so hard on Charmed. What happens during your annual break?

It's tricky - part of you wants to do nothing at all, but the creative part of you wants to see if there's anything out there. Hey, if I don't find anything to do in my next break, you could be seeing me over in England! I love it there, England is one of my most favourite places ever.

When we spoke to Rose earlier, she said that you had the wildest social life of all the Charmed girls…

[laughs] She did? I don't know if that's so true. Well recently, I guess I've been out a bit more than usual. I have a wonderful boyfriend who I enjoy hanging out with. He's definitely become my best friend - you know when that starts happening that it's important…

And we're guessing that you won't be giving us any names here…

[grins] Sorry, no can do. What I will say, is that one of the changes I've gone through is my attitude to other people. I think I was always very conscious of myself when going out, just because I've grown up in the public eye, and I've always felt like people are talking about me, or I've been worried that they hate what I'm wearing, that kind of thing. But I've just turned 30, and I've reached this point where I'm like, 'You know what? I'm me. And I'm really not going to worry about what everyone might be thinking.'

Good for you. Are you making up for lost time then?

Oh nothing so extreme. Just a couple of nights a week and it's been interesting and fun. But I'm a good girl, really. Even at my worst I'm still a saint. [laughs] I guess it's fair to say that there are things that I've not been willing to experience in the past for fear of being judged, but yes, since I started going out with this guy I've been really enjoying it. Anyway. Was there something else about the show you wanted to ask me?

Ah, ok. Hint taken.
